Bus Routes

Three routes

There are three bus routes operating, which are called:

• The Wayside Route
• The Firhouse Route (coach bus)
• The Rathcoole Route (double-decker bus)

See below for information on the stops on each route and any accompanying maps.

The stops and timings below are effective from 8th Sept 2025.

The Wayside route:

Stop 1: 7.45am — Glencairn Luas stop (Bus stop 7417)

Stop 2: 7.55am — Wayside Cottages Kilternan (Entrance to Boyles Coal Yard Farmer Brown’s)

Stop 3: 7.58am — Jamestown P&P Stepaside (Bus stop 3483)

Stop 4: 8.00am — Belarmine Stepaside (Roundabout at entrance to Belarmine)

Stop 5: 8.03am — Aikens Village (Entrance to Sandyford Par 3 Golf Course)

Stop 6: 8.05am — Kilcross (Bus stop 6007, Sandyford Road)

Stop 7: 8.07am — IMI Sandyford Road (Bus stop 2836)

Stop 8: 8.10am — Airfield Estate (Bus stop 7916, opposite entrance to Airfield)

Stop 9: 8.12am — Ballinteer Road (Bus Stop 7718, Jamie’s Italian Restaurant)

Stop 10: 8.14am — Barton Road East (Bus stop 1052)

Stop 11: 8.19am — Ballinteer St. Johns (Bus stop 2971)

Stop 12: 8.20am — College Road Layby (just before Little Harvard Montessori)

Stop 13: 8.30am — Rockbrook school

The Firhouse route (coach bus):

Stop 1: 8.00am — Tallaght Stadium (Bus stop 7122)

Stop 2: 8.05am — Firhouse Road West (Bus stop 7183)

Stop 3: 8.10am — Ailsbury (Facing SuperValu, bus stop 4880)

Stop 4: 8.20am — The Old Mill pub (Bus stop 2540)

Stop 5: 8.22am — Firhouse Road (Bus stop 7961)

Stop 6: 8.25am — Glenlyon Park (Bus stop 3006)

Stop 7: 8.27am — St Colmcille’s Way, Woodstown (Bus stop 4886)

Stop 8: 8.40am — Rockbrook school 

The Rathcoole route (double-decker bus):

Stop 1: 7.45am — Avoca, Rathcoole (Facing Avoca)

Stop 2 7.50am — Millrace roundabout (At the roundabout)

Stop 3: 7.55am — Saggart Luas stop (Layby facing the Luas line)

Stop 4: 8.00am — Lidl, Fortunestown Lane (Bus stop 10150)

Stop 5: 8.02am — Brookview Avenue (Bus stop 1051)

Stop 6: 8.03am — Swiftbrook Ave (Bus stop 2669)

Stop 7: 8.05am — Fortunetown Way (Bus stop 10334)

Stop 8: 8.10am — Tallaght Bypass (Bus stop 2359)
