Scholarship Awards General Background
Rockbrook Park School is a secondary school for boys, situated near Rathfarnham, in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. Established by parents, the school seeks to combine academic excellence, personal attention to each student and a sound moral development, with a close working relationship between teachers and parents. The ethos of the school is Catholic, and students of other beliefs are welcome.
The school has in place a Scholarship Awards Scheme. Scholarships are awarded for the duration of the student’s attendance at the school. The awards scheme is reviewed annually.
The following outline the main criteria with regard to the granting of an award. For further details see the documentation which is made available each December for the following academic year.

- The scholarships will be awarded under certain category headings: students from non-national backgrounds, students with exceptional soccer skills, students from West Tallaght, students who might not otherwise choose a fee-paying school.
- Scholarships can be awarded to student entering at any level into the school, but will likely be made to incoming first year students.
- Scholarships are awarded on the basis of
a completed application form
a completed assessment form on the family’s financial situation
an interview at the boy’s home with the boy and also with his parents
a recommendation from the boy’s current or former primary school principal
a review of current school reports and homework copies or workbooks.
- The parents of those receiving scholarships are expected to make a commitment to fully participate in the school community.
- The closing date is usually around February / March of the proposed year of entry to the school.
